Our Mission
To revitalize, preserve, and promote our historic downtown as a vibrant destination for residents, businesses, creative industry and visitors to gather, shop, work, and live. Through inclusive, art-driven influences, and a force of outreach culturally representative of our city, we will rebuild the sustainable infrastructure needed for Lynn to fuel growth and progression while fostering and celebrating our unique identity in our post-industrial urban environment of today.
The deliverables of this mission are conceptualized into four prongs:
Economic Vitality attracting new businesses and catalyzing property development while helping existing businesses thrive
Design transforming the look and feel of downtown
Promotion bringing visitors to the area
Organization building an inclusive and sustainable organizational structure

Historic downtown Lynn is a gathering place for families, neighbors and visitors to enjoy hometown hospitality and Lynn pride through family activities and cultural events. It is a business-friendly destination for residents and visitors to experience our unique and vibrant entertainment and business district. Our downtown is a safe, inviting and walkable destination that connects the expansive waterfront on one end and the Lynn Common, a public, recreational greenspace, on the other. Close-knit and engaged citizens of all ages come together to volunteer, socialize and positively impact our community. We improve perception by creatively re-using historical infrastructure in forward-looking ways to demonstrate resonance with the current community and foster creative empowerment.
Lynn Main Streets will promote civic engagement, walkability and tourism, and will further Lynn’s efforts in the areas of creative community placemaking, wayfinding, safety and inclusive development, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment and improving the quality of life for all those who partake.
